Auto Imagination

Nick Butler’s interest in all things mechanical started at an early age and lead to an engineering apprenticeship at Hawker Siddeley (later British Aerospace) at Kingston and Dunsfold; Working on experimental projects on the Harrier jump jet and Hawk trainer specialising in flight testing and stress analysis.

Nick then proceded to set up Auto Imagination in 1976. Designing and building one-off cars from scratch formed the basis of a successful business in the early days but other industrial design and manufacture projects have dominated since the 1990’s. New products are designed using traditional methods and skills as well as digital CAD modelling through to prototype manufacture in composites and metal. CNC machining, pattern making, composite construction including carbon fibre and fabricating are just some of the services offered. Studio photography, artwork and promotional literature are produced in-house.

Nick prides himself in providing a complete service for bespoke engineering projects.
